Food Lounge Concert
On August 10, 2024, Food Lounge members hosted a free concert at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church for all guests, where many members showcased their musical talents. The concert was hosted by Ethan Poon, Dallas Chapter President Emily Tauhert, VP of Events Veronica Ye, and VP of Marketing Andy Li. Founder Ethan Poon began the night with an introduction about the Food Lounge’s cause, informing the guests about our mission and future goals. Performers sang and played various instruments, such as the violin, cello, flute, clarinet, piano, and more, performing in a wide array of genres including classical, jazz, and pop, demonstrating the diversity of Food Lounge members’ talent.
We were also blessed to be joined by guest performers Shavonda McCullum and Jeff Aycock, as well as 4 guest speakers: Leia Therese Hunt, founder of Leia’s Kids; Ari Isufaj, Owner of Crudo Wood Fired Taverna; Patricia Rigsby-Scott, Founder and Director at Caring Compassionate Hearts & Helping Hands, Inc; and Rhonda Willingham, Founder and Director at Making It Count, Inc. We enjoyed all of our guest performances and appreciated the lessons we learned from their speeches.
We thank all Food Lounge members who performed at the concert, as well as those who volunteered to set up and clean up afterward. We all had a great time at the concert, and we hope that through our work we were able to spread our cause to assist people in need even further, helping The Food Lounge gain more support.
