My name is Alan Chen, a junior at Argyle High School in Texas. From a young age, I’ve enjoyed building and creating—from Legos to collaborative projects with my peers—which sparked my interest in working with others and solving problems.
Over the past year, I’ve actively volunteered in my community, which has not only strengthened my commitment to service but also helped me grow socially. Through these experiences, I’ve become more confident, more communicative, and more aware of how teamwork can create meaningful change. I also contributed to producing a successful school band show, where I learned the value of coordination, planning, and persistence.
Although I used to be more reserved, volunteering has helped me come out of my shell and become someone who listens, supports, and leads by example. I’m excited about the opportunity to take on a leadership role—motivating others, organizing meaningful service projects, and continuing to make a positive impact in my community.
