As we volunteer with Bread of Life on a regular basis, below is a summary of the important information you need to know:
Event One: Distribution on Saturdays
It is located on the campus of St. John’s UMC Downtown at 2019 Crawford St., Houston, TX 77002. The distribution takes place behind the church, underneath the Pierce Elevated. Parking for volunteers is available in the parking lot across the street from the church on Gray St., all other parking is metered Mon – Sat until 6pm.
Event Two: Box packing on weekdays
Box packing takes place at our new warehouse, 1110 Paige St., Houston, TX 77003. Parking is available on site.
General Rules:
- Please sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave (at the Kiosk). Volunteers must adhere to current CDC and BOL health and safety guidelines (includes wearing a face mask).
- Volunteer events involve physical labor, please consider this when deciding if the event is right for you. Wear comfortable clothing. Volunteers must wear closed toe shoes (no sandals, Crocs, etc.).
- Bread of Life staff and leaders will coordinate and direct volunteers to assure health and safety measures are being met.
Minors
Minors must have a signed waiver and parent/guardian supervision.
