Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm

On Saturday, March 19, sixteen volunteers from The Food Lounge (a non-profit organization) dedicated 3 hours towards garden work at the Lewisville Community Garden, also known as Rich Lubke Community Organic Garden.

Everyone started their own assigned jobs, some pushing wheelbarrows full of dirt, and others weeding garden beds. Then the Volunteers cut weeds, laid down cardboard to prevent weeds, and re-mulched other garden beds, so that the garden could be primed for the growing season.

This community garden grows and supplies organic produce to the food pantry for Salvation Army, which they use to cook hot meals for hundreds of homeless citizens. Our volunteers hard work was greatly appreciated by the master gardener.
