We typically organize 4-5 events each month for our members to volunteer. These events range from weekly delivering fresh food to local shelters, to fundraising, and to working at local food banks and soup kitchens. Events that are not full will be closed 7 days before they take place. Please sign up!

Food for Neighbors – Red Bag Event
The Red Bag Program is at the core of Food For Neighbors’ mission. The Food Lounge – Fairfax Chapter prepared several red bags and participated in food sorting and distribution events.

Preparing lunch bags for Refugees living in local shelters
The Food Lounge – Fairfax Chapter packs lunch bags weekly for a few local shelters to serve refugees. Typically, each lunch bag includes a turkey and cheese sandwich, cookies, a banana, and a bottle of water.
Rise Against Hunger – Meal Packing
Raise Against Hunger targets remote, last-mile communities within hunger pockets designated “serious” or higher on the Global Hunger Index, which are the hardest places to reach and are often difficult to access, lack communication and have poor infrastructure. 200,000 bags of food were packed and shipped to Africa.
