We typically organize a few events each quarter in the Dallas area for our members to volunteer. These events range from fundraising to delivering fresh food to working at local food banks and soup kitchens. Events that are not full will be closed 7 days before they take place.

On November 30th, 10 volunteers completed community service at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). They helped package food packs for children in need in Nicaragua. A total of 18 boxes, which is equivalent to 3888 meals, were packed by The Food Lounge in this session.

November 23, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On 11/23/24, 18 volunteers completed community service at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas. Volunteers packed and served 350 hot meals, including pasta, chicken, and vegetables.
November 16, 2024 (Saturday) – FMSC, Richardson
On Nov. 16, 2024, Food Lounge volunteers completed community service at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). They helped package food packs for children in need in El Salvador. A total of 23 boxes, which is equivalent to 4,968 meals, were packed in this session.
November 16, 2024 (Saturday) – The Samaritan Inn, McKinney
On November 16, 2024, Food Lounge volunteers completed community service at Samaritan Inn. Volunteers made 80 lunch bags with either a bologna or Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich, snacks, and bottle water for the Samaritan Inn Bag Lunch Brigade Event.
November 9, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On November 9th, 10 volunteers completed community service at 2706 S. 2nd Ave Dallas, TX. The volunteers packed and served 200 meals, including a sandwich, a bag of chips, drinks, and snacks.
November 9, 2024 (Saturday) – FMSC, Richardson
On November 9th, sixteen students completed community service at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). They helped package food packs for children in need in El Salvador. A total of 27 boxes, which is equivalent to 5832 meals, were packed by The Food Lounge in this session. We appreciate all volunteers’ time and effort!
October 26, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On October 26, 2024, a dedicated group of 11 students participated in a meaningful community service project at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas. This event was a wonderful opportunity for the students to give back to the community. The volunteers worked tirelessly to prepare and serve over 200 hot meals to those in need. Each meal was thoughtfully packed to include a delicious sandwich, a bag of chips, a refreshing bottle of water, and an assortment of snacks and candy, ensuring that every recipient felt cared for and appreciated. We are grateful for the time and effort that all the volunteers contributed to this event.
October 19, 2024 (Saturday) – The Samaritan Inn, McKinney
October 12, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
10 students completed community service on October 12th, 2024 at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas. Volunteers packed and served 200 portable food packs, including hotdogs and sandwiches, a bag of chips, fruit, and a bottle of water. Scott, a member of the Cathedral of Hope, provided 65 hotdog sausages, 24 buns, 300 french crepes, chips and other snacks. We appreciate all volunteers’ time and effort.
September 28, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On Sep. 28, 2024, Food Lounge volunteers completed community service at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue. Volunteers made 200 lunch bags with bologna sandwiches, chips, fruit and bottled water for the homeless community.
September 21, 2024 (Saturday) – The Samaritan Inn, McKinney
On September 21st, volunteers from The Food Lounge completed community service at The Samaritan Inn, Mckinney. Volunteers made 80 sandwiches and lunch bags for our Bag Lunch Brigade program which provides sack lunches for the residents of the homeless shelter.
September 21, 2024 (Saturday) – LIFT R&R, McKinney
September 14, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On September 14th, Food Lounge volunteers packed and served 180 hot meals, including hotdogs, a bag of chips, fruit, and a bottle of water. Scott, a member of the Cathedral of Hope, provided the 180 hotdogs, 150 buns used in the meal preparation, 180 bags of chips.
September 7, 2024 (Saturday) – FMSC, Richardson
On September 7th, Food Lounge volunteers completed community service at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC – 1155 Kas Dr., Suite 200, Richardson TX 75081). This is the second time at the new location since the storm damage in May 2024. They helped package 28 boxes of food packs, equal to 6,048 meals and enough to feed 16 Children in Liberia for a year. Along with other volunteer organizations, total 79 boxes/17,064 MannaPack Rice meal bags were packed for a year feeding 46 Children in Liberia during this session. These meal bags will be sent to Liberia and distributed to those in need. We appreciate all volunteers’ time and effort.
August 24, 2024 (Saturday) – FMSC, Richardson
Eight members from The Food Lounge completed community service and volunteered on August 24, 2024, at the Feed My Starving Children organization. This is the first time at the new location since the storm damage in May 2024. They helped package 17 boxes of food packs, equal to 3,672 meals and enough to feed 10 Children in Zambia for a year. Along with other volunteer organizations, total 105 boxes/22,680 MannaPack Rice meal bags were packed for a year feeding 62 Children in Zambia during this session. These meal bags will be sent to Zambia and distributed to those in need. With the individual efforts of each volunteer, we collectively can achieve amazing results in the fight against hunger.
August 24, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On August 24, 2024, a group of eleven student volunteers from The Food Lounge volunteered at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue in Dallas, TX. During their time there, the volunteers focused on preparing and distributing meals to those in need around the local area. They successfully packed and served over 200 hot meals, each including hotdogs, a bag of chips, granola bars, and a bottle of water.
August 17, 2024 (Saturday) – The Samaritan Inn, McKinney
On August 17th, members of The Food Lounge completed community service at The Samaritan Inn, Mckinney. Volunteers made 80 sandwiches and lunch bags for the Bag Lunch Brigade program, which provides sack lunches for the residents of the homeless shelter. The Food Lounge also donated 20 sets of bedsheets for the residents of the homeless shelter.
August 10, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On August 10th, members of The Food Lounge completed community service at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas. Volunteers packed and served 300
hot meals, including hotdogs, a bag of chips, fruit, and a bottle of water. Scott, a member of the Cathedral of Hope, provided 114 hotdogs, 112 buns, and 239 snacks. We appreciate all volunteers’ time and
effort.
August 3, 2024 (Saturday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On August 3rd,nine members of The Food Lounge went to the Community Garden Kitchen to make sandwiches for those in need. In total they made 110 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and packed them into lunch bags with a banana, a bottle of water, crackers, and a granola bar. 60 of these meals were distributed by volunteers at a local gas station and outside of local church to those in need.
July 27, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On July 27th, members of The Food Lounge completed community service at 3515 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas. Volunteers packed and served 200
hot meals, including hotdogs, a bag of chips, fruit, and a bottle of water. Scott, a member of the
Cathedral of Hope, provided 400 hotdogs, 120 buns, 250 bananas, 300 snacks, and 200 bottles of
water. We appreciate all volunteers’ time and effort.
July 23, 2024 (Tuesday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On July 23, 2024, 2 volunteers from The Food Lounge served at Community Garden Kitchen in McKinney, Texas. They completed tasks such as serving dishes, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors as part of Community Garden Kitchen’s Weeknight Dinner Service. Overall, they were part of a group that served a total of 166 patrons, addressing food insecurity within the DFW Metroplex.
July 13, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
July 9, 2024 (Tuesday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On July 9, 2024, 3 volunteers from The Food Lounge served at Community Garden Kitchen in McKinney, Texas. July 6, 2024 (Saturday) – Producing Mosquito Repellant Spray
July 6th, 2024, 7 students from The Food Lounge volunteered and completed community service for producing 510 bottles of mosquito repellent spray for The Food Lounge fundraising and donations to the residents of homeless shelter. July 2, 2024 (Tuesday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On July 2, 2024, three Food Lounge members volunteered at the Community Garden Kitchen in McKinney. During the event, volunteers served food and drinks, cleaned tables, cleared dishes, vacuumed, and reset the dining room. In addition, The Food Lounge was able to interact with likeminded individuals with the common objective of reducing food insecurity. We are very grateful for the opportunity.
June 25, 2024 (Tuesday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On June 25th, 2024, two Food Lounge volunteers worked at Community Garden Kitchen in McKinney. They were tasked to serve food and drinks, take orders, clean dishes, and clear tables. In this session, we were able to find new people who had the same goals as us to reduce food insecurity, and we are grateful for the opportunities given to us.
June 22, 2024 (Saturday) – 3515 Metropolitan Ave, Dallas
On June 22, 2024, 12 student volunteers completed community service at 3515 Metropolitan Ave. They served 200 lunch bags, including hot dogs, bananas, chips, cookies, and water bottles to the homeless community. Scott, a member of the Cathedral of Hope, provided 192 bags of chips, 440 bottles of water, 162 hot dogs, 224 sausages, and some buns.
June 15, 2024 (Saturday) – The Samaritan Inn, McKinney
On June 15, 2024, 8 student volunteers completed community service at The Samaritan Inn. They made 82 sandwiches and lunch bags for the Bag Lunch Brigade program which provides sack lunches for the residents of the homeless shelter.
June 11, 2024 (Tuesday) – Community Garden Kitchen, McKinney
On June 11th, 2024, three Food Lounge volunteers worked at Community Garden Kitchen in McKinney. They were employed at tasks such as serving food, clearing tables, and clearing floors. Through this session, we were able to meet new people who had the same goals as us to reduce food insecurity in the DFW Metroplex, and we are grateful for the experience given to us.

On June 15, 2024, Food Lounge volunteers completed community service outside of the Dallas International Street Church. Volunteers made 200 lunch bags with hot dogs, chips, and bottled water for the homeless community.
